Speaking at the ceremony, Guild Affairs caretaker Mr. Owino David congratulated the new leaders on their election victory and urged them to uphold the values and policies of the university. He cautioned against misconduct such as examination malpractice, academic fraud, and unnecessary strikes, encouraging instead a leadership approach grounded in dialogue and cooperation.

The former Chairperson of the University Electoral Commission, Mr. Ekirapa Brian Aaron, outlined the process that led to the elections. He described key stages including candidate identification, voter registration, nominations, the virtual presidential debate, and the eventual voting and tallying of results.
While acknowledging challenges such as unreliable internet, cybersecurity concerns, limited access to devices, and power outages, he also highlighted the strengths of the process; teamwork, improved transparency, reduced costs, and a generally peaceful environment.

The swearing-in was presided over by the University Legal Officer, Ms. Martha Apolot, who guided the incoming leaders through the oath-taking ceremony. Each leader took their oath of office using holy books in accordance with their faith.
